Paul Alexander
Chief Executive Officer, Northbound Treatment Services
Northbound’s founder, Paul Alexander, has been at the helm leading the organization since its inception in 2008. An astute clinician, conscientious businessman and compassionate leader, Paul has shown willingness to take risks both personally and professionally in the service of developing a treatment environment where clients and staff alike can truly thrive. Paul has been instrumental in the development and oversight of Northbound’s occupational and collegiate services – innovative programs that empower clients to work or participate in school while in the supportive treatment environment. Paul received his Certified Addiction Treatment Specialist training at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California, and was awarded the Outstanding Alumni Service Award in 2002. Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology, Law, and Society, summa cum laude, from the School of Social Ecology at the University of California, Irvine, and a Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles.
Paul Bacharach
Chief Executive Officer, Gateway Rehab
Paul Bacharach joined Gateway Rehab in December 2013 as its President and Chief Executive Officer. In his position, Mr. Bacharach oversees all facets of the Gateway Rehab system, which has more than 20 locations throughout Western Pennsylvania and Ohio. Mr. Bacharach previously served as the President and CEO of Fayette Regional Health System/Uniontown Hospital. In his previous capacity, Mr. Bacharach was responsible for the health system’s ability to maintain a dominant market position in its region while advancing clinical services, infrastructure, and financial stability. His association experience is extensive. Among his many leadership roles, Mr. Bacharach served as the 2010-2011 Board Chair of the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining the health system, Mr. Bacharach advanced progressively through hospital positions in Western Pennsylvania and Ohio. He earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Ohio University.
Edward Diehl
President, Seabrook
“Ed” began his career in the chemical dependency treatment field in 1976. A year later, he joined his family at Seabrook as a Certified Alcoholism Counselor (CAC). In 1986, Ed was named Vice President of Clinical and Community Services, overseeing all treatment activities and external communications. Shortly after his father passed away in 1989, Ed was made President of Seabrook — the position he holds today. Ed’s expertise lies in the areas of healthcare financing, development, public policy, and managing within a rapidly changing environment. In 2019, Ed will be celebrating 45 years of sobriety.
Terri Hayden
Chief Executive Officer, Pride Institute
Before joining Pride Institute, Hayden served as the Executive Director of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in St. Paul, Minnesota for over ten years. She also was Director of Chemical Health Services at Chrysalis, a Minneapolis nonprofit organization providing a wide array of services and care to women and their families. Hayden served as an adjunct professor at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Augsburg College and a master’s degree in Psychology from St. Mary’s University.
J. Gregory Hobelmann
Sr. Vice President, Chief Medical and Clinical Officer, Ashley Addiction Treatment
Dr. Greg Hobelmann currently serves as the Senior Vice President, Chief Clinical and Medical Officer of Ashley Addiction Treatment. In this role, he oversees the clinical, medical and nursing staff for both the inpatient and outpatient clinics. He previously served as a staff psychiatrist after completing his psychiatry residency at Johns Hopkins. He has also completed an anesthesiology residency and pain medicine fellowship at Johns Hopkins in 2006 and has a Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Prior to arrival at Ashley, he worked as an interventional pain specialist.
Charles Odell
Chief Executive Officer and President, Dilworth Center
Charles Odell has worked in the field of alcoholism and drug addiction treatment since 1983. Mr. Odell is the Chief Executive Officer and President of Dilworth Center where he has worked since 1995. Dilworth Center is a private, non-profit organization providing alcoholism and drug addiction treatment programs for adults, young adults, and adolescents. Dilworth Center also provides individualized programs for pilots, dentists, nurses and lawyers that meet the requirements of their respective regulatory boards. Mr. Odell received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a Master Addiction Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist. Mr. Odell serves on the Advisory Board of the Jonnie McLeod Institute on Substance Abuse at UNC-Charlotte and is also an Adjunct Instructor at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Cathy Palm
Executive Director, Tully Hill Treatment & Recovery
Cathy Palm has served as the Executive Director for Tully Hill Chemical Dependency Treatment Center since 1996. Ms. Palm is one of 7 founding board members actively involved since 1989. Under her leadership, a 2.2 million dollar capital campaign raised 1.6 million dollars which enabled Tully Hill Corporation to purchase their current facilities on October 31, 2003. Ms. Palm is also a founding board member of the Tully Hill Foundation, which raises funds exclusively for the Tully Hill Corporation. Ms. Palm continues to provide leadership to meet the challenges of a dynamic healthcare marketplace. Ms. Palm currently serves on the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP) Board of Directors, where she has served since 2000. She was elected Chair of the NAATP Board in May 2009 to 2011. She also serves on the NAATP PAC Board Ms. Palm received a BS from Ithaca College and an MBA from Syracuse University. Ms. Palm’s background includes the position of Vice President of Administration & Finance and Treasurer of a closely held international manufacturing company for 11 years. Ms. Palm was also a managing partner of C.L. Frederick & Company, CPA, which was one of the first female CPA firms to open in Syracuse in 1975. She was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant for a number of years.
Debbie Sanford
Chief Officer, Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services
Debbie Sanford currently serves as Forrest General Hospital’s Administrator of Behavioral Health Services. Debbie is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and William Carey College and holds a Masters in Nursing as well as a Masters in Business Administration. She has held adjunct faculty appointments at the University of Southern Mississippi. Debbie has served in administration at Pine Grove for the past nineteen years and has served in various healthcare administrative positions for the past 27 years.
