Ahead of the President's announcements today regarding efforts to address the opioid crisis, Michael Botticelli, Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy and Dr. Richard Frank, HHS, Assistant Director for planning and Evaluation, conducted a stakeholder call.
As anticipated, the President announced expanded availability of medication assisted treatment. He stressed the importance of expanded treatment resources contained in his proposed budget.
Of critical importance to National Association of Addiction Treatment Provider members, he announced the appointment of a Parity Task Force which will be charged with making certain that the Parity law is enforced.
This is a major step toward full implementation of the Parity law. We will be following further developments very closely and will keep members informed of progress.
