Hope Missing from Addiction Coverage

Read the NAATP Director's and NAATP Board Chair's comments on how the press has missed the mark in some recent addiction coverage. ADAW Editor Alison Knopf includes commentary from NAATP, SAMHSA, and Caron in her article describing the missing piece of "hope" in recent coverage. 

NAATP Director Ventrell describes some of the recent coverage of the opioid crisis as generating a "false narrative" that suggests recovery isn't happening or that multifaceted treatment has not been ongoing. Rather, he says good addiction treatment is and has been an integration of medical, psychological, social, and spiritual care.
