Ben is the Chair of the Open the Door Campaign for Caron Treatment Centers. The campaign began in 2013 and has raised more than $65 million for scholarship, special programs and capital support. From this total, Caron has raised more than $13 million to build the new Carole and Ray Neag Medical Center. The lobby has been dedicated in honor of Priscilla and Ben within this building as a result of their generosity and volunteer leadership.
Ben joined the Caron Board of Trustees in 1995 and served as Chairman of the Board from 2006 to 2009 and then again in 2012 to 2014. He was a recipient of the Richard J. Caron Award of Excellence Dinner in 2011. He is a current and very active member of Caron’s Board of Trustees.
Ben’s desire to give back to the community and involve himself in the national issue of addiction and substance use disorders led him to Caron, an organization his uncle, Dick Caron, founded over 60 years ago. Helping to carry on a family legacy continues to be an inspiration.
In addition to Ben’s unsurpassed commitment to Caron, he has also served in volunteer roles for Alvernia University, Reading Hospital (now Tower Health), and the United Way of Berks County to name a few. Ben resides in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania with his ever-supportive wife Priscilla.
