Philip W. Eaton is President and Chief Executive Officer of Rosecrance Health Network – a not-for-profit, comprehensive behavioral health organization. Under Eaton’s leadership, Rosecrance opened Northern Illinois’ first chemical dependency treatment center for adolescents and the only certified recovery homes for adolescent females in the Midwest. In 2011, Rosecrance merged with northern Illinois’ leading mental health treatment center to create a nationally recognized behavioral health organization. Mr. Eaton has extensive experience in the health care/social services field. Prior to being named President/CEO of Rosecrance Health Network, Eaton was the director of the Rosecrance Rockford Campus. He began his career at Rosecrance in 1971 as a social worker moving from Chicago to Rockford.
Mr. Eaton is committed to the awareness and treatment of substance use and mental health disorders. He has served as Chairman (1999-2001) and Board Member (1997-present) of the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers; President (1997-1998) and longtime Board Member of Illinois Association for Behavioral Health (formerly IADDA); President of Northern Illinois Chemical Dependency Services Network (1990); member of the American College of Addiction Treatment Administrators (1999-present).
Mr. Eaton holds a Master of Science Degree in Community Mental Health from Northern Illinois University and a B.A. degree from Trinity International University in Deerfield. He received the Trinity’s Alumni of the Year Award in 2010; NIU Alumni of the Year Award in 2001; the Administrator of the Year Award by the American College of Addiction Treatment Administrators in 2002; and the Distinguished Community Service Award from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford in 2002. Mr. Eaton was named the 2012 Behavioral Healthcare Champion and received the 2012 Ignite the Spirit Award from the Chicago Firefighters Union. Mr. was also named one of Rockford Chamber of Commerce’s People You Should Know in 2012. Phil has been married to Cherri for 48 years and has one son, Chris.
