Important Message on NAATP Thought Leadership

Since the founding of NAATP in 1978 by a handful of pioneering treatment centers, NAATP has worked to provide the addiction service industry, and our industry leadership in particular, with a forum in which to come together, share best practices, and evolve in order to provide the best possible service to those who suffer from addiction. Through the ups and downs, periods of both growth and retrenchment, times of environmental support and neglect, NAATP has been present to guide our work by providing thought leadership. That leadership is again needed as we face complex issues including insurance utilization, parity enforcement, changing treatment therapies, and ethics and professionalism violations.

Serving the Addiction Treatment Provider Since 1978

Now in our 37th year, we continue our mission with a renewed passion and focus. NAATP members and stakeholders were recently polled as part of our rebranding and strategic planning project. The results confirm the need for enhanced provider support and policy advocacy. As part of these efforts, please take a few minutes and review the following news and action items.

  • Support for the federal Comprehensive Addiction Recovery Act (CARA). NAATP supports CARA and urges you to do the same.
  • As part of our new Strategic Plan, the new periodic publication, Addiction Leader, will be out soon!
  • Make plans to attend, sponsor, and exhibit at the 2016 National Leadership Conference May 15-17 at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
  • Stay industry informed with weekly comprehensive addiction leadership news from Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Weekly (ADAW). ADAW is delivered to your inbox weekly as a NAATP Membership Benefit.
  • Apply to be listed in the SAMHSA Evidence Based Addiction Treatment Program Directory.

Thank you for being part of NAATP and for exercising your leadership voice. Please do not hesitate to contact us with news, questions, or concerns.
