Business Development Officer

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. The Regional Resource Director will work with the VP of Business Development and Regional Director of Business Development in conjunction with the regional team in support of the overall sales philosophy, regional revenue goals, and strategic plan.
2. Creates and implements overall targeted regional sales strategy to support sales philosophy of relationship management and new business prospecting.
3. The Regional Resource Director will develop and create Tier 1 referent relationships and provide updated information regarding current programs and services offered at all Caron facilities.
4. Provides documentation in Sales Force and prepares all necessary reports as outlined in the Business Development Plan.
5. Initiates, schedules, and tracks face to face appointments with key referents and key members of leadership or clinical staff.
6. Represents the organization in a professional manner at civic and professional functions.
7. The Regional Resource Director will work collaboratively with members of the regional team, including the Alumni Department, Student Assistance Program, and clinical staff to promote all Caron programs. This includes planning and/or coordinating large events as well as attending various community meetings as directed/appropriate.
8. Assists the Development Department in identifying candidates for fundraising when possible and make joint calls/ visits with potential donors if requested and appropriate.
9. Assists the treatment teams in locating and evaluating residential facilities and continuing care programs. Responsible for strategic continuing care requests from the clinical team within 24 hours
10. Prepares and submits all reports as required (e.g., Salesforce entries, Weekly Schedule, Annual Plan, expense accounts)
11. The Regional Resource Director will coordinate and host referral source visitors to all Caron facilities.

1. Ability to work extended hours, including evening and weekends as necessary
2. Must have transportation to and from site visits and appointments, and be able to physically navigate access to and from various referent locations both within and outside of your assigned region
3. Able to work remotely from home office. Must have appropriate space to work from, including computer access and high-speed internet access

Other Information/Requirements: 

Education / Experience Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
2. Minimum of 3 years’ sales experience in healthcare and/or service-related industry
3. Clinical knowledge and/or understanding of 12-Step program
4. Proven relationship management and prospecting skills
5. If in recovery, 2 years of continuous sobriety preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of industry players and/or substance use disorder treatment
2. Demonstrated public speaking skills
3. Previous experience with event planning and coordination
4. Proven ability to work without close supervision and take initiative - self starter
5. Working knowledge of the 12-step program
6. Proficiency in sales/referent reporting and marketing planning.
7. Knowledge of the general market/territory
8. Proficiency in computer skills and major programs such as Word and Excel
9. Ability to connect Caron’s system (Citrix) via high-speed Internet access
