The Primary Therapist at Milestones is responsible for all aspects of client care to include providing group and individual therapy sessions for all assigned clients on a recurring basis. Works closely with the Clinical Supervisor to ensure program and therapeutic activities produce the desired outcomes while following the guidelines of the philosophies and values of Onsite and its’ modalities.
Milestones is a comprehensive and bespoke residential therapy experience based in Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee. This residential retreat offers a customized, holistic approach during a client's 30, 60 or 90 day stay in our community. A client receives group therapy, a cornerstone of the Milestones experience, as well as individual therapy with specialized trauma-informed modalities (psychodrama, DBT, EMDR, IFS, Brainspotting, Somatic Therapy, and more). Additionally, our team of therapists, psychiatrists, nurses and functional medicine doctors work collaboratively to create a whole-body treatment plan. Psychoeducational lectures, meditations, equine and adventure therapy and other nurturing and restorative programming is included during a client's stay.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a high standard of client-centered support and service while simultaneously developing a strong therapeutic alliance with clients including, but not limited to, completing initial assessment interviews and collaboratively developing a treatment plan, identifying relevant individuals affecting client care (referent, family, attorney case manager); maintaining regular communication requested by clinician and when appropriate, maintaining on-going appropriate documentation in the client’s electronic medical records, facilitating problem solving and providing crisis intervention as necessary
- Facilitate therapy groups, individual sessions, family sessions and program activities with clients
- Maintain composure when managing crisis situations and implement de-escalation techniques; perform proper protocol during emergency situations if requested by Vice President of Clinical Services Milestones
- Update referent sources on client progress in treatment and continuing care with information that is deemed necessary by the therapist;
- Serve as point person for any after hours, holiday and weekend incidents at Milestones, including but not limited to: crisis intervention, accidents involving injury, assistance with de-escalation, etc., delegating responsibilities to address identified issues as appropriate when on call
- Regularly and actively exhibit a commitment to organizational health with the ability to receive feedback and take direction, ask for help, and seek guidance when needed as well as maintain positive, healthy relationship with participants and Onsite team members

- Actively participate as requested in the strategic execution of the Company’s Vision and Strategic Plan
- Actively participate both in obtaining and maintaining Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation by timely assistance with all requests, training and adhering to Policies and Procedures
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance policy (e.g., HIPAA, CARF, etc.).?
- Knowledge of and adherence to Company policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal / state / local laws and regulations;?Maintain complete confidentiality in all client/program matters, in accordance with Onsite policy;
- Participate in team meetings and staff trainings related to licensure and accreditation
