Friendly House Accredited
Friendly House is an innovative non-profit women’s recovery program founded in 1951, located in the heart of Los Angeles. We are a women-led and BIPOC-led organization that serves and represents women of all gender experiences and racial and ethnic backgrounds who seek to recover from the devastating effects of alcohol and drug addiction.
Our 73-year history of working with women in recovery has given us the knowledge and experience necessary to develop effective treatments for women. Friendly House has redefined substance use disorder treatment by addressing the multifaceted nature of addiction; the trauma and mental health issues that go hand-in-hand with substance use disorder.
Our unique approach provides inclusive and culturally responsive mental health and addiction treatment, emergency short-term and long-term housing, community resources and life skills training at minimal or no cost to our clients. We provide treatment and services that embrace the whole woman and all the experiences that have led her to our door. We acknowledge the interconnectedness of biological, social, historical, and other current factors that influence our clients' journey towards healing.
We provide sub-acute detoxification services, residential treatment, IOP services and sober living.
At Friendly House, our mission is to inspire and empower women of all gender experiences, on their journey to overcoming substance use disorders and mental health challenges. Our program offers a blend of clinical expertise, cultural wisdom and community support in an inclusive space. Our aim is to restore dignity and foster resilience providing the tools and support needed to heal trauma patterns that often serve as barriers to a sustainable recovery lifestyle.
