Summer House is a 24 bed acute care inpatient detox facility. All of our patients are medically monitored and treated for drug and alcohol withdrawal symptoms. Our physician is available 24 hours a day and is responsible for developing and tailoring individualized detox protocols to ensure a medically safe and comfortable detox. Our physician also conducts a comprehensive physical exam on each patient within 24 hours of admission. Our ARNP meets with patients daily in order to assess their needs in accordance with their physical and emotional well-being. Summer House employs a team of RN and LPN nurses that are on-site 24 hours a day and are responsible for the continuous, hourly monitoring of our patients medical progress. In accordance with our physician s orders, nurses administer medications, collect blood work, write daily progress assessments, and establish medical treatment plans. Summer House also employs licensed and certified clinicians that meet with patients daily to provide clinical and emotional support as they undergo their detox. Clinicians conduct bio-psychosocial evaluations on each patient and help them to identify goals and objectives they will work on while in detox and treatment. In addition to providing individual sessions, clinicians conduct daily educational groups on topics ranging from relapse prevention to post-acute withdrawal. Summer House also provides a wide range of therapeutic activities such as Acupuncture, Tai Chi, and Yoga to help patients heal physically, emotionally and spiritually. Lastly, our discharge planner meets with all patients in order to develop an appropriate aftercare plan and ensure continued care.
