The theme of this new format of addictionLEADER (AL) issue reflects new program developments at NAATP in terms of treatment research and education. In this ever-changing and ever-challenging field, there is no such thing as resting on laurels. Nowhere is this more evident than in the area of addiction treatment outcomes and measures research. NAATP is significantly building its capacity to collect data and show what works in the delivery of addiction treatment. A lead-in to this work is found in the new Guest Column of this issue, describing the value and protocol for tracking treatment outcomes, such that providers can demonstrate value under the emerging environment of Value-Based Care operation.
