Free opioid prescribing CME course being held on February 26, 2016, in Fairfax, VA.
The White House announcement on its new efforts to address Rx drug abuse reminded us all about the extensive toll this crisis has taken on this country. For example, more Americans now die from drug overdoses (the majority from Rx drugs) than from motor vehicle accidents.
To help end this epidemic, organizations that represent clinicians, such as NAATP, are being called upon to increase clinician training on safely prescribing opioids and preventing their misuse. SAMHSA developed this CME to do just that.
