Member Specialist

NAATP is seeking a Member Specialist to handle the day-to-day operations of our member experience, focusing on engagement, retention, and growth. You’ll be the primary point of contact for current members, providing them with information about programs, resources, and connections within our network. The position is full-time, remote-based, with a salary and benefits commensurate with experience.

This role is key to ensuring that NAATP members have a top-notch experience while working with our team to drive membership success. As Member Specialist, you’ll be responsible for administrative tasks, including managing member data, and you’ll also play a crucial part in member engagement and prospecting. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for managing our social media presence to ensure engaging content that keeps our community connected and informed.

Position Summary: The Member Specialist is responsible for the tactical day-to-day operations of the association’s member experience which include engagement, sales, prospecting, retention, and all frontline operations. This position is the primary point of contact for current and potential members seeking information about programs, resources, and connection to our network. This position will works in collaboration with the Director of Membership and Marketing to create innovative approaches in the delivery of an exceptional member experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive and grow membership engagement and satisfaction.
  2. Collaborate in the development and implementation of strategies to attract new members, re-enroll members, and increase retention of current members.
  3. Manage social media and content creation.
  4. Support and enhance conference events and sales.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  1. Drive and grow membership engagement and satisfaction.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for our members; respond to member questions and communicate membership offerings and services.
    • Collaborate on the development and execution of initiatives to keep members engaged and informed through digital communications.
    • Facilitate regular touch-points with members including creation of membership onboarding process.
    • Coordinate virtual stakeholder events and trainings to enhance member interaction.
    • Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with prospective and current members.
    • Represent association at industry events and conferences. 
    • Co-coordinate Membership and Workforce Committees.
    • Assist with training ambassadors on referral process and key messaging.
    • Manage survey programs and monitor member satisfaction and address issue or concerns proactively.
  2. Collaborate in the development and implementation of strategies to attract new members, re-enroll members, and increase retention of current members.
    • Conduct outreach campaigns and follow-ups with prospective members through digital channels.
    • Utilize CRM tools for communication, tracking, and reporting. Leverage tools to track and manage recruitment (and engagement) efforts.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date member records within the CRM system.
    • Monitor reports related to members metrics and KPIs; provide quarter and periodic reports.
    • Assist in setting annual goals and development plans for association and revenue growth.

    Manage social media and content creation.

    • Collaborate on development and manage a comprehensive social media strategy and calendar to promote membership benefits and engagement.
    • Create compelling posts, graphics, and articles for various social media platforms.
    • Monitor social media channels for member feedback and engage with the community online.
  3. Support and enhance conference events and sales.
    • Recruit and increase exhibitor and sponsor sales for annual conference.
    • Assist in special event planning. (i.e. conference, golf tourney, member event)

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Excellent “customer service” skills; welcoming, informative, responsive, and has strong attention to detail and follow through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to work autonomously; is self-motivated; desire to take full ownership of projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Energetic and positive outlook with a motivation for sales.
  • Knowledge of the substance use disorder (SUD) and behavioral health care industry is a plus.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, communications, business, or related field.
  • Minimum three years of experience in sales, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Mac systems, and database management.
  • Proven experience in CRM administration and social media marketing.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and social media tools.

Position Type: Full-Time Exempt

Reports to: Director of Membership & Marketing

Pay Range: Salaried. Salary Range $68,000 - $78,000 – Commensurate with experience.

Benefits: Fully paid health insurance (medical, dental, and vision), term life, short- and long- term disability coverage, 15 days of PTO, 14 observed holidays, 6 summer Fridays off, Simple IRA retirement match of 3%, monthly remote work stipend, wellness stipend, and flexible work schedule.

Location: Remote. We offer a flexible environment through work-from-home remote positions. Home location must be located within the US. The position includes moderate travel.

Working conditions: NAATP employs remote workers who must maintain a home office conducive to optimal work performance and free of distractions. Some projects may require staff to travel. All staff are required to work and be available during office hours depending on time zone location.

Physical requirements: Employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment.
