Main Areas of Responsibility:
The Therapist position provides assessment, individual, family and group therapy, as well as crisis and case management for patients and their families. Develops and updates treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, documenting interactions and maintaining clinical records for customers with substance use disorders. Coordinates with internal and external supportive services to ensure the maximize the therapeutic benefit to the patient and their family. Collaborates with other member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. This position may require evening and/or weekend hours.
Other Information/Requirements:
Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or other behavioral health discipline from an accredited college or university preferred;
Minimum ADT, CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC, LMSW or LGPC from the State of Maryland is required
Demonstrated ability to plan and use effective therapeutic interventions and counseling techniques.
Solid working knowledge of and demonstrated ability to use current diagnostic criteria in the formulation of diagnostic impressions
Knowledge of basic group dynamics and techniques
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with other health care professionals
Ability to communicate and interact both personally and in writing with patients, staff, and community agencies
Knowledge of substance use disorder assessment and treatment strategies
Case management, including referral, linkage, monitoring, coordination and advocacy problem-solving skills.
